Now it has been decided: Bjørvika’s new housing project will have a reddish façade

The developer wanted to dress the facade in gray stone, but was met with protests. Now the Planning and Building Agency has said yes to a reddish slate facade.

This is how the developer and architects envision that the new housing project “Vannkunsten sør” will look with reddish Otta slate.

The lack of colors in the cityscape has long created debate in Oslo. Bjørvika in particular has had to endure a lot of criticism for its gray facades.

At Munch pier is the housing project Vannkunsten. The houses are clad in gray slate. Soon, the second part of the housing project, Vannkunsten sør, will be built close by.
